But being a young assassin, clearly a blood thirsty one at that she didn't see it as "I still have things to learn so I shouldn't be going into being a leader or any of these complicated cryomancy techniques as I'm probably ready for them" and more as "Subzero is a coward, where as the old grandmaster was willing to do anything and let students push themselves to point of insanity to just improve their kombat, Subzero keeps everything under control, so he's not only a coward but a control freak. If what she's saying is true, Subzero has held her back a lot of her time as an assassin which she has been since a small child (killed her mom when she was 6), but also knowing Subzero it was likely for her own good, as she clearly already isn't the most stable person and stopped her from going power-mad. Her reasons would be just, and her hatred towards Kuai Liang cemented. It was now a clan of pretenders lead by a false leader. The greatest insult to the clan’s history, and this was also like spitting on Bi-Han’s smoldering corpse. The final nail in the coffin would be when Kuai and Hanzo had finally made peace. To her, he was dismantling everything she believed in. She would reluctantly work with Kuai in the mean time as a means to survive their encounters against the Cyborgs.įrom this point on, until even after Kuai Liang becomes grandmaster, their relationship would be uneasy as she does not respect his more reserved, merciful personality and how he reformed the Lin Kuei from assassins to protectors. He would take her with him, but this now resulted in Frost becoming a target for termination. She find it insulting that Tundra would so quickly take up the mantle of Sub-Zero, and soon after desert the Lin Kuei. She would be pro-Cyberization, but Kuai Liang obviously wouldn’t be. Her motive for wanting her own clan could then stem from Bi-Han’s death at the hands of Scorpion, followed by the Cyber Initiative. She looks up to Bi-Han because he’s ruthless and encapsulates everything the clan stands for. My take of it is that maybe she was already an unruly character who was reluctantly accepted in to the fold by sponsorship of Bi-Han. This however came out of nowhere since in MKX was only see her get her ass handed to and then frozen. In the NRS timeline I can only deduce that she yearns for power and is willing to do anything to obtain it, even cyberize her body. I feel like they could’ve down her motive better, or given it some more development.
